Days until Christmas countdown
There are 54 days, 8 hours and 10 minutes until Christmas Day.
Santa's diary:
Toys made so far:
The days until Christmas countdown on this page runs to the second, in your own time zone. It shows how many days, hours, minutes and seconds are left until Christmas Day begins where you live. Open this page any time to see how long is left.
Christmas Day begins at midnight, so the countdown ends at the start of 25 December in your own time. On Christmas Eve, Santa reaches every home at midnight local time. The countdown is set to your time zone, so the numbers match your clock.
The countdown is a fun way to wait. Some children like to cross off days on a paper calendar, and some like the live numbers on the screen. You can use both. The Santa advent calendar has 25 doors from 1 December, one for each day before Christmas.
Santa is busy all through the countdown. From 1 September to 25 December he is getting ready for Christmas. The Toy Factory works through the presents, and at one o'clock each day Santa practises his sleigh round the track by the frozen lake. You can see all of this on the live map.
If you would rather count sleeps than days, visit our how many sleeps page. Days and sleeps both lead to the same night. Keep an eye on the live map in the last few days, when the village is at its busiest. Each night before bed, you can say the number out loud together.
Counting down can help a child feel calm about waiting. Try asking your child to guess the number before they look at the screen, then check together. You could also write the number on a card each morning and see if it matches. The countdown shows days, hours, minutes and seconds, so older children can see exactly how close the big night is.
